    Pardon our dust...

...and so the renovations begin. I'm so excited and at the same time not quite ready for all the noise, dust, mess...ugghhh. Since I work from  home this adds a new twist to my mostly quiet days. Also, I am a confessed neat freak! So renovations bring out the slight OCD in me. I find myself compelled to clean around the mess and the dust and the chaos even though it is a waste of time because it's just going to get messy again!. I must repeat to myself, "the mess is ok", "the mess is ok", "the mess is ok". ;)

So I figured I'd keep track of the work being done here on my blog. Mostly for myself so I can have a record of the before and after and also to share with you.

    (fence inspiration)

We are starting with adding a fence. Yay! We have two dogs and since we moved into this house a year and a half ago we've not been able to just 'let the dogs out'. Our lab is almost 14 years old so he's not the issue. BUT, our little Beagle, Snickers, cannot be trusted off the leash. His nose get's the best of him and off he goes!! So, the fence going up makes this woman VERY HAPPY!!

    (simple, open deck inspiration)

We are also tearing down the railings around the deck and extending it quite a bit. Woo Hoo! I will keep you posted as things progress.

So for a little while...please pardon our dust!

    2. Hi Katie! I'm excited to get all this started. It's been in the planning for a while but it's a little surreal to actually be starting. I am freaking out a little cuz of all the dirt, mud, dust that is starting to show up all around the house. Ugghh...more cleaning for me but I know it will be worth it when it's all done!

When ya coming into town? :)

    3. Oh, how I wish I had plans to visit! I'm not sure when I'll be down again but hopefully sooner rather than later...

    4. Gorgeous fence! Love the clean simplicity of the lines in these photos. Given that we're 11 years into our remodel, it has become a way of life. Never thought I would utter that last phrase. Will NOT ever admit that acceptance to my husband/contractor. Good luck! I'll be eager to learn how the craft fair goes. I hope to do my first in Nov/Dec.
